Volunteering

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.” – Oscar Wilde

When disaster strikes, one of the most selfless contributions one can make is to be a volunteer.

There are many tasks that need attention before, during and after a disaster strikes.

When a disaster occurs, if you and your family are safe, please consider helping others at that time in our community.

As part of ensuring we are “ready” to respond and recover from an unplanned event (such as a major flood or tornado) the City of Pacific’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is forming a Volunteer Response Team (VRT).

We will provide VRT members training and the opportunity to serve in a wide variety of ways.

We will maintain a list of vetted volunteers who will be notified when unplanned scenarios arise or when planned special events have a need for volunteer support.

If you would like to join the VRT and “be part of the tree”, please send your basic information to Hal Schulman, Emergency Management Director, ema@pacificmo.gov.

You will receive information and a form to completed, signed, and returned.

All volunteers will be required to obtain an official background check prior to full VRT membership.

Should you have additional questions, please call 636-271-0500 x285 and leave a voicemail.
